Superieur Brand Clothing: Enjoy the Trip

Ugh you've been so neglected...I apologize for being gone for so long, but assure you it's for good reasons!

A life changing conference, an upgraded office and more work than my days will allow sum up the past few weeks. I've been working away at bettering myself, my business and quite frankly trying to get some sort of routine in order. But more on that later... right now I want to introduce you to Superieur Brand Clothing!  I've worked with the company in the past and was lucky enough that our paths crossed yet again. With some recent transitions their Shopify website needed an updated theme and so did their product photography. Now not only is the owner down right "cool" in every sense - drummer, vintage Michigan lover, and small business owner; he's truly passionate about his work and we have the same sense of humor - dry and downright honest. When we work together our commonalities merge, and while I feel he sometimes underestimates my capabilities, it truly fuels me to exceed my own.

While proceeding with the update I had someone ask me what the company was all about. My explanation was messy, laced with metaphors, and sort of arid. Then I thought well that's kind of what Superieur Brand is about. The shirts represent everything from icons to mystic legends in Michigan and throughout the Midwest. The shirt is not meant to be a souvenir of one's trip but a remembrance to the "good ol' days".  And that my friends is what makes his shirts so Superieur!

I haven't photographed in years but am lucky enough to have a great friend that willingly (most times) gets roped into my ridiculous requests, which this time resulted in modeling! A few hours outside in the very brisk Michigan weather resulted in some successful new photos of his entire line of shirts.

Now for the websites carousel, I've had these ideas of "photo collages" swirling in my head and while the owner was hesitant to release control, he finally agreed. Little did he know I had serious arsenal in my back pocket - add{vintage}! While they specialize in weddings, I knew they also had worked on various  photo shoots and workshops supplying the necessary props and styling. After a few emails back and forth, some hand-picked items were delivered and off I was.

Now picture this (actually, I wish I had a picture, or better yet a couple extra hands that day). Me on the top of a 5' ladder with props strung all over my apartment's back parking lot and uncooperative wind. With a little sweat, some weird glances and pure will power I managed to snag a few shots. If nothing else the completion of this job, and reflection on the hectic past few weeks has me slowing down to enjoy the trip, because sometimes it's not about where you're going it's how you get there.

And seriously saying the ladies at add{vintage} were fantastic, doesn't even begin to do the turn of events justice. Not only do they have great product, they were so willing to collaborate in a short time frame with little old me...and for that I'm so grateful! Help me repay the favor by visiting their site to see the unique selection of rentals, and consider using them for your next event. After your done there hit up Superieur Brand Clothing. With all this "vintage" in the air, I'm sure you'll feel a little nostalgic and invest in one (or both) of these admirable West Michigan small businesses. I did!
